| Lorena Garay wins Latino de Oro 2009 Award in the category of Music! |

Lorena Garay was honored by the Identidad Latina Hispanic
Newspaper at the 5th Annual Latino de Oro 2009 Award Ceremony as the Music
Award Winner!
This past Saturday,
November 7, 2009, the Identidad Latina Hispanic Newspaper in Connecticut hosted
the 5th "Latino de Oro 2009" Award Ceremony. The event was held in
the Theatre of the Performing Arts at the Learning Corridor in Hartford.
The awards are designed
to recognize men and women of Connecticut that have made a significant
contribution to our community and have shown outstanding performance in their
field.
There are 10 award
categories: Politics, Sports, Arts & Culture, Music, Education, Media,
Health, Student of the Year, Community Service, and Lifetime Achievement.

Latina’s sponsored events through 2010!

We're excited to announce that the album
Surcari won third place in the category of “South and Central American Album”
at the 2009 Just Plain Folks Music Awards Show in Nashville, TN.
42,000 albums from over 80 different
countries around the world in 93 genres of music were submitted in the largest
music awards of any kind in world history!
The winners and
finalists were chosen by 10,000+ judges assigned in the final round of voting
which included a mix of Music Industry Professionals, Music Fans and other

Last year, Lorena Garay composed, recorded and
produced a 15-track instrumental Latin Ska CD commissioned by the TV Sports
Channel ESPN: The worldwide leader in sports.

Since 2008, Lorena Garay
has been recording and producing a bilingual album for children. The CD will
include 15 original tunes by Lorena Garay, which highlight the music and culture of the Spanish Caribbean and Latin America. The CD will feature the
voices of children between the ages of 5 and 8. It will be released in the Spring of 2011.

Massachusetts Cultural Council. The program is funded by an Arts Model
Development and Dissemination Grant from the US Department of Education.
